This is the only city I've felt 100% safe in, either day or night, the whole trip. Not a crazy amount of Police on the streets either, just the right amount. Only place in this country I'd even consider living in.

And lots of other things. You know what I was NOT thinking about? FIG NEWTONS.
My sources told me you can get these for $4k-$5k pesos a month (350-450 dollars).

Someone Went a Little Too Fast
After doing everything you're not supposed to do: 1) Drive, 2) At Night, 3) While Raining, 4) In the Mountains, 5) With Winding Roads, 6) And Paranoid that every car behind you is a potential kidnapper. How I did not end with two busted axles, or all 4 flat tires, I call a miracle from above.

Worst place I've stayed in by FAR.
After my (imaginary) car chase, I was starving. Nothing but local restaurants, no McDonalds in sight. I went to the "best" local joint. The lady was preparing everything right in the "kitchen" you see in the back. Street corner, no gloves, no hair netting, no shred of any sanitary precaution. At least the food was on the table and I decided to give it a shot.
It was great! Quesadillas were really good and the cheese was the freshest I ever remember having. Taco was great too, and would've had more, only I didn't want to push it. Fresh cilantro for the win!
