[EN] We went to the Mall of Georgia to see the just released movie Contagion directed by Steven Soderbergh. This movie shows the effects of a rapidly spreading lethal virus infection. The work of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) where we both work since 1989 is shown quite realistically. Like most movies by this director, it has some pretty badly written and directed parts, but it is worth seeing. The track was again recorded by using the GPS built into our new phone the Motorola Photon 4G (Sprint, USA). This time, I used the Open GPS Tracker application (v.1.2.3) to write the track. In contrast to the Google My Tracks application, this application clearly cannot remove drift that can be seen on the track when we stopped for some time at our house. All pictures were taken by the camera built into the phone. The movie poster was taken from the Internet.
[PL] Pojechaliśmy do centrum komercyjnego Mall of Georgia aby zobaczyć nowy film amerykańskiego reżysera Stevena Soderbergha Contagion (polski tytuł Epidemia Strachu). Film ten pokazuje sytuację, w której prawie cały świat zostaje zaatakowany przesz szybko szerzącą się infekcję groźnym wirusem. Praca amerykańskiej instytucji Centers for Disease Control (CDC), w której pracujemy od roku 1989 pokazana jest bardzo realistycznie. Jak większość filmów tego reżysera, film ten ma wiele słabych punktów, ale jest wart obejrzenia. Nasza trasa była znów zapisana przy pomocy GPSu, wbudowanego w nasz nowy telefon Motorola Photon 4G (Sprint, USA). Trasa została zapisana przy pomocy aplikacji Open GPS tracker (v. 1.2.3). W porównaniu z programem Google My Tracks, ta aplikacja nie usuwa dryftu, który można zobaczyć, kiedy zatrzymaliśmy się na kilkanaście minut koło naszego domu. Wszystkie zdjęcia były zrobione kamerą telefonu. Plakat filmu był wzięty z Internetu.
