The car park at Llyn Cwellyn
All raring to go
It was rather wet and windy following 2 weeks of blue skies in the region!!!
We followed the Ranger Track
Looking back over the lake
Look the sky is a bit brighter over there
Lucy catching back up
There are dark specks by the darker green scrub, this was the rest of the group
Beautiful view back down the hill
Already a way up
We were heading for the ridge ahead
Pausing on the slate bridges over the streams
The cloud got lower
Stunning mountain views
April2011 029
Where's the top again???
Streams cut their way through the landscape
Clear stream water
As we began to climb steeper, the icy wind became stronger
April2011 032
Spirits still high
Slate paths ribbon across the mountainside
The path here began to steepen, meanwhile the wind had got significantly stronger making walking increasingly difficult
Rehydrating
As we look back to the little lake the mist began to drop lower
Keeping going
April2011 036
The path to the ridge
Visibility got worse
Looking down from the ridge
The cloud would clear momentarily then surround again
We had to decide to abandon the final climb due to the conditions so built our own summit
It was difficult for the men to stay on their feet at this point
Paul left a book for another climber, although we didn't see another person at any point of our climb today
Lambs
April2011 044
The way back down
More lambs
And even more lambs... well it is Wales!
Five go up Snowdon
