Mumbai. formerly known as Bombay, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the most populous city in India, and the second most populous city in the world, with a population of approximately 19 million. Along with the neighbouring urban areas, including the cities of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it is one of the most populous urban regions in the world. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbour. Mumbai is also the richest city in India, and has the highest GDP of any city in South, West or Central Asia.
This is a typical street corner, with scores of men standing around, doing whatever. You don't really see women lingering like this. Just the men.
This is a busy, busy city of 19 million people. People are everywhere. All the time. Swarms of them!
This is the train station, the one that had about 80 people killed in the 2008 terrorist attack on Mumbai.

Despite being crowded and congested, there are some very nice waterfront areas. The water is polluted, however.
We toured the city in the comfort of a great bus!

Who knew that Gandhi's house became a museum?
There were some interesting things to see in Ghandi's house, like these books...which he had actually read.

Yep, you can see cows running around, just as you would expect them to be!
The city is growing and expanding. And, with this growth are top end condos to appear to the new Indian middle class.
We found an outdoor laundry similar to what we saw in Cochin. But, this one was massive. It's ironic to see clean clothes being hung and dried over a dirty slum.

This is the other hotel in Mumbai that was impacted by the 2008 terroist attack. It was renovated and is open today. We had lunch here.
During the terrorist attacks, the terrorists rampaged the hotel and tossed grenades into hotel rooms. They also shot whomever they saw, using AK rifles.
