This MJ's Remork (tuk tuk) has a top speed of about 50lklmh, the poverty of the Cambodians is really sad but they all look happy and the kids head off to school in clean white shirts and uniforms, even though they llive in small one and a bit room houses
These are random photos of Beng Melea it is over 1000 years old
evidently the Angkor wat is based on the same design only aq lot bigger.
The guy with Jan is an unoffical guide from the village attached to the site, they are very poor but pick up a few dollars(5) for a "educated " tour......we still got to see more of the site than if we were by ourselves
You can see on this photo and a lot of the ones to come how the figtrees have forced the blocks apart and caused the building to fall

Some of the iintricate carvings that still exist, in some place we actually to walk/climb over these carvings..........works of art over 1000 years old and clod footed tourist stamping all over them
The shopping centre at Beng Melea a lady seller chased Jan for 15mins to wear her down for a purchase......even when I said she had no money she said then I should give her some.

We were picked up from our hotel after a very unusual breakfast, toast and jam was actually a toasted roll cut in round slices no cereal but a cooked egg dish, Jan said the coffee was crap and the tea not much better, Anyway after MJ picked us up we headed off to Beng Melea about 2 hours drive, on the way we bought some sticky rice and soy stuff cooked inside a bamboo culmn, Jan thought it was really nice.
