Not only is it straight, it's pretty much flat too. You can see cars pull away until they are mere specks on the horizon.
Marysia at the beginning of boredom straight!
One of many tree themes across the outback. There are also Hats, Soft Toys, Boots, thongs etc.
This is the rear view of the van as it is packed down. As it's only a little taller than the AWD pulling it, we get better economy than a full height van. On the right hand corner is the generator, which can be run to charge the battery even if the van is moving.
Today's travel involved setting the clocks forward 45 mins at Caiguna, and then 1hr 45mins at the WA/SA border. Although the Standard time act of 2005 failed to mention it any more, the Service stations of Cocklebiddy, Madura, Mundrabilla and Eucla Township all run on this time. When daylight saving isn't happening, it's time zone sits between WA (-45mins) and South Australia (+45mins) The time zone is literally 350Km's long by the width of the road, as nothing else is on it!
I couldn't find it, but I'm sure I just passed through "monotony" a while back. It's hard for many to grasp just how large the State of Western Australia is, with a North/South Border of approximately 1850Km's, and a land mass of 2,529,875 Square km. No wonder it takes days just to go places!
Just over the Border at Border Village, this is the largest Kangaroo I'll approach!

Apologies for the Geotagger taking a break in the heat! WE sorted this out later on for the return thankfully!

It was THIS BIG!!!!
