[EN] In May, 1962 the Atlanta Art Association had sponsored a month long tour of the art treasures of Europe. When returning to Atlanta on a chartered Air France Boeing 707 from Orly Airport in Paris on June 2, 1962, the airplane crashed on takeoff killing all 122 passengers and 8 out of 10 crew members. Atlanta Woodruff Arts Center was built in 1968 as a memorial to the arts patrons, who died in this crash. The Woodruff Arts Center is home to the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the High Museum of Art, Young Audiences, the 14th Street Playhouse, and the Atlanta College of Art.

[EN] High Museum of Art. In addition to the Dalí exhibit, there was a very interesting exhibit entitled Titian & The Golden Age of Venetian Paintings. It displayed 25 masterpieces on loan from the National Galleries of Scotland. We especially liked the religious paintings of Dalí, such as "Santiago El Grande" (1957) and "Madonna de Port Lligat" (1949 and 1950 versions). They reminded us of the beautiful "Sacrament of the Last Supper" that we have seen in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. It is the most popular piece in the museum.
