Nick picked some grain from the field margin, did some winnowing and we munched it. Had a nice oaty taste. Barley or oats? We're not sure.
It was in the same area as a huge modern sprawling mansion, and this house in turn has a small chalet next door. So we think the cleaner of the mansion has to have his/her own cleaner living next door.
Has a well in the front garden. These are 2 houses with 2 separate back gardens. Surrounded by beautiful views.
Note the field margin. There isn't much cover for small animals to hide in really.
To the eye the spire of Ranmore church (St Barnabas) is much more visible. Next prominent hill along is Box Hill. Next one Reigate Hill.
The spire belongs to St Martins church.

Walked from White Down and along a small section of the North Downs Way, then steeply down to skirt the west of Westcott and back in a circle to retrace some of our steps, again some of them very steep.

Winnowing

We decided this was the cleaner's house
