Quick detour back on my self to double check a road name and sign.
The zoo I was heading to was in a little village called Steeple Gidding acording to the address. This road is Steeple Gidding but the zoo is not here.

Just as I reached the end of the road and just as if straight out of a Postman Pat episode a post van came bobbing round the corner. A very helpfull Postlady called Rose said that it was back the way I came and a couple of miles further down the road.
When I arrived at the zoo I was greated with a confused look as I asked where I could park my bike, "no one has ever cycled here that I know of" was the response. I ended up securing my bike 'behind the senes in one of the disused compounds.

The staff were helpfull and freindly and the entrance fee of £8.50 was reasonable too.

Visit www.hamertonzoopark.com for more information about the zoo.
As I reached the top of a fairly steep hill, I realised that I should have taken the turn that was at the bottom of the hill, ooopps.

Why do wrong turns always have dead ends or go uphill??

Trip date - June 21st 2010

A cycle ride out in to the country to visit Hamerton zoo.

Google Maps said it was 13.9 miles to get there so I thought it would be a good day out.

Get out of the house, get some exercise and visit the zoo; what more could you ask for - oh and it was a clear warm summers day to.

Wrong turn
