The ride split at this point with some going with Matt up to Langbar and then to Deerstones via a "short cut" (sic). The others went the (relatively) flat route and we all met up at Storiths

Here we walked the bikes along a footpath down a steep little valley, over a narrow bridge and then up to Deerstones. sadly no one took a photo!

This is where the group met up to continue the ride opposite Buffers cafe. Strangely we resisited the temptation for a cup of tea.

Some of us had lunch here.

Others had their lunch here, they got served very quickly!

The group had split into several grouplets by this point. one of the groups waited here at Bolton Bridge to re-group

We stopped for a nice cuppa and I got a piece of flapjack. The hens ate half of it when I briefyl put my plate on the ground. The owner kindly gave me a discount when I told her!
