The temperature dropped more then 10 degrees during the last part of the night. It was the whole day cloudy with light snowfall and some minor spells. The cloudtops were just over 3000 meter and sometimes you had the false impression that the sun returned. At 18.00 there was a clear sky again. The fresh snow is beautifull but the low temperature of -12 with strong winds made the conditions more than glacial. The crowded Christmas/New Year period is over and there was a big exodus in the resorts this Saturday. The heavy rainfall that occured more then a week ago and the snowfall of the last days in combination with the strong winds made the lovely off-pistes tracks very dangeous. The number of incidents with fatal casualties is increasing day by day.
