This was one of many amazing Kauri trees we saw along a walk in this national reserve.
Look carefully at the name on the sign.......the bus driver told us how the drivers shorten the name by taking out the middle bit to keep things interesting!
Not quite the same route as the number 52!
90 mile beach....although it's not actually that long apparently....did they think we would'nt notice?
Views from the bus were fab.
A great ride!
Rach joined the bus driver Spike on his daily fishing trip for pippies.
LOOOOOK at that.
Tree demonstrates excellent fishing footwork.
90 Mile Beach
This is the stream we had to drive up to get to the sand dunes.
Coming down was much more fun than climbing up!
A few more feet and and I would have got a bit wet.
As i said, it was a long climb up.
And she's off.....
There she goes.
Landing with style!
Still looking good.
I loved it!
The mean machine
Not a bad place for a sandwich.
This is one of the most northern tips of the North Island of New Zealand.
A tree and a lighthouse
Rach was desperate to know the way back to China.
View from Cape Reigna
This is the place where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasman Sea. It was an amazing sight.
Wow
This is the point where Maori legend believes that a person's soul travels to in order to enter the spiritual world.
