Charlie and I haven't been hiking together for six months when we summited Mount San Jacinto Peak on the 1st of November, 2013. It's been way to long for the Mountain Maulers so I picked a relatively easy hike that I recently did with my sister Dale last February.
The hike wasn't very long or high, but we did have a pretty good elevation gain/loss of about 1800'. The area is going through an extreme drought and experienced a large wildfire last year, but we did see some water flowing at Marion Creek although much less than it should be at this time of year.
We did see some wild flowers beginning to bloom along with some lizards and squirrels. We didn't break any records on this hike but we had a good time with some amazing views.
