Entrance to a children's amusement park. I guess they can get away with it because Daffy is lifting his left arm, not the right one.
I'd forgotten about that guy. He makes an appearance in an English school bilboard ad.
Big week for processions. Now is when all those world-famous, fancy flower carpets are made. They're made out of dyed sawdust and take hours to build. Sometimes catholic schools build them, such as this one. Other times, families that have live in town for decades get together and make their own carpet in front of their house. It's an all-night affair sometimes.
Filling in the Pattern
Dyed Sawdust
Sometimes the patter will be laid out with these cutouts. Other carpets are arrranged with flowers, fuits, or other objects.
Cutout of Gt's national bird, the Quetzal.
Fancy and with an embedded QR code. Nice!
Not really, In order for the sawdust not to be blown away by the wind, someone mus constantly spray water to keep the sawdust damp.

Quick! Someone call the Police! It's boobs! Oh, the humanity! Won't someone think of the children???
I'm taking a picture of people taking pictures of the city. I'm guessing it's the first time in the big city.

Unlike in New York, f you can make it here... you'll be extorted by gangs and forced to pay an ever increasing monthly stipend to them until somebody in your family gets kidnapped and you wise up and either close up shop or move to another country. That's what I'm told the Ray Krocs of Guatemala had to do. Incidentally, they live in the Dominican Republic.
At long last, reunited at Wal-mart!

Whoa! more than $30 bucks??? No thanks.
Hurry up buddy... you're holding up traffic...
Antigua at Night
Lots of tourists milling about, in town for Sunday's procession.

Apparently, it was Earth Day that day. All the lights around the central park were turned off for an hour. People were handed candles, and they had a small presentation about something, can't remember what.

Then, some guys in stationary bikes pedaled for an hour to power the display. Those durn libs and their energy saving schemes are everywhere! Did not see Al Gore present. Whatever, we can consume all the energy we darned near please because this is Amer... Oh... well, technically it is... just not the "right" America :-/
