how to convert time format from raw bin and track files?

Hi,

we deployed 20 i-gotU GPS loggers on animals for research, and we deleted the tracks from the devices for new deployments. We cannot load the tracks in the @trip software anymore, and need to retrieve the data.

It is no problem to retrieve the data from the raw bin and track records, but the time format is cryptic. We would like to know how to convert the time from the bin and track files, e.g.:

StartTime=1322840663

What dd/mm/yyy and hh:mm:ss does that represent, and what is the formula to convert these numbers?

The solution is simple:

The date format is in seconds since 1 Jan 1970, so just add the number to "1/1/1970" and you will get the appropriate date and time of your position.
