There are many users who swim with i-gotU Travel Logger device. Seems very great! Only i-gotU Travel Logger device can do this currently.

This user did it:

And this one:

However, this device is water-resistant, so you cannot take it to swim or shower.
If the i-gotU device was saturated with water(hydrosphere) for a short time, it should not be damaged. But if it was saturated with water(hydrosphere) for a long time, i-gotU device must be damaged. So we don't recommend to take it to swim.

If you persist taking it to swim, you could purchase an " Waterproof Case ".
Normal one can water-proof for 5 meters, and the better one can be for 20 meters.

You can refer to the link for more information:
( Just for your reference, we don’t recommend any specific brand.)

5 or 20 metres depth is not "swimming", it's drowning!

I'm curious what would happen if I was underwater and it couldn't get a GPS fix? Hypothetically, if I happened to hold my breath and free dive for an hour and the logging interval was set at say 30 minutes would it keep trying to get a fix for the next 30 mins until i surfaced? This would reduce the battery life significantly I guess.
